Video Operations Center Consoles

Following a decade of continuous service, a major American corporation is phasing out its satellite-based data and video services network. The fully-operational equipment supporting this network has been ordered leased or sold: where is, and as is.

The data network was replaced in April of 1009. The equipment has been deinstalled, packaged and is now available for sale. The final conversion of the satellite based video system was scheduled for December 31 of 2009, and is now available.

The antenna complex which served as the teleport is also for sale and was available as of January 1, 2010. As an alternative to deinstalling, shipping, and re-installing the hub antennas, an arrangement is possible whereby the fully licensed, fully redundant teleport could remain in place and operated at current location. This alternative would take advantage of the existing license, redundant IFL paths, security, and backed up power services.

VSAT Data Network

bullet The data network, based on the Hughes Network Systems Integrated Satellite Business Network platform (HNS ISBN), has been phased out. Equipment from the data portion of the network, the ISBN VSAT Hub system, is available today. This equipment is being offered in three package groups; one complete ISBN NetGroup, one large set of spares, and one large set of test and monitor equipment.

Video Network

bullet Equipment from the video network is now available. The system is based on Motorola (General Instruments) DigiCipher II Video Encoder and is configured as a “Pure Pixel” system. The system can also be configured for MPEG 2.

Teleport Uplink Facility

bullet The teleport providing the uplink facility for both data and video consists of three medium sized Vertex Ku-Band antennas, 6.1M, 7.0 M and 7.2 M, within a secured compound. Each is equipped with full featured motorized antenna control and gas fueled de-icing systems.

The teleport, available as of January 1, 2010, may be purchased where is, as is. The teleport may be removed or arrangements can be made to operate within the existing infrastructure.

Inventory Update: Sale is pending on some of the teleport equipment listed on these pages.  Until the available inventory is made firm and the listings are updated, please contact us for specific requisitions.
